Sue and Marty had a great late-season wedding recently that featured good weather and high spirits by everyone involved. I started the day with Marty and his family at the Simsbury Inn followed by photographing Sue getting ready at their house in South Windsor. From there it was a short trip down the road to St. Margaret Mary’s Church for the ceremony and formals, and finally back to the Simsbury Inn for the reception. Here are some photos from their day…
- Marty descending the Inn’s central staircase as the wedding day begins.
- Making sure the room arrangements are in order.
- Marty heading to check on the weather before his family arrives.
- Marty’s family gathering to head off to the church for the ceremony.
- One of the junior bridesmaids looking over her own dress in the mirror.
- Suzanne putting on her dress with some help from her bridesmaids.
- A detail of Suzanne’s eyelashes.
- Just hangin’ out.
- Checking the details before the ceremony.
- Suzanne and her father before walking down the aisle.
- Marty at the altar anticipating Suzanne’s entrance.
- Suzanne being escorted down the aisle as the ceremony begins.
- Sue and Marty exchanged loving glances throughout the ceremony.
- This little one made himself at home at his mom’s feet midway through the ceremony.
- The couple exited as the sun streamed through the stained glass windows, creating deep shadows inside the church.
- A Quick Portrait.
- Bustling Suzanne’s dress back at the Inn.
- Some details from throughout the day.
- On our way into the reception for the introductions.
- Sue and Marty’s first dance.
- I loved this moment when Marty leaned in and Sue kissed him on the forehead.
- Kids being kids.
- Marty chatting with his parents near the end of the reception.
- The final dance of the night.
- After the guests had left, all that remained were Sue and Marty’s friends, who said their own goodbyes to the couple as everyone lingered in the hallway, seemingly reluctant for the night to end.
